I bought a cheap blue-rinse blue Metro a while ago so I could use the engine for my Mini. A friend of mine had a Vauxhall 1.6 XE engine from an Astra Sport so we decided to combine the two.
We had it all planned out (we had most of the bits we needed anyway), stripped the interior of the Metro and bought some twin 40s.
Only problem we had was the ignition system was going to cost a shed load o' cash, way over our budget.
So now I have a set of twin Weber 40s which, although they do look nice on the shelf, are up for sale. They are in great condition and look as though they have been recently serviced including new pump jets. They come without a linkage but do have the balancing bar connecting them.
£175, not looking for a profit just want to recoup my costs. (These are more than £260 each new!!)
I will post some pictures of them when I get my camera back.
