OK, after saying I wasn't going to go to race retro I decided I would. £25 is a whole lot for a show and I was less than impressed to get shaken down for another £5 to park when I got there... This better be the best damn car show eVaH for £30 in.
I actually came away feeling that I hadn't been robbed so it must have been good....
What did I get for my £30?
Not a beef and horseradish baguette for sure, that was another £4.90
However...
The show was run over 4 halls of the Stoneleigh agricultural centre. Thats 4 large halls. Three of the halls were "mostly cars" with a few extras. Extras being either restoration tools, bike stuff or automobilia depending on which hall. The fourth hall was part autojumble, part cars for sale, and finally an autotest area.
Not to mention the vintage motorcycle wall of death.
And then the vintage group B rally cars being put through thier paces in the grounds.
YAH!
One thing I love about indoor shows, apart from the not being out in the rain and wind, is the fact that all the numpties show up for them.
If I had a pound for every time I overheard one of the following words in conjunction with "mk1 Escort" I'd have enough money to buy the therapy I'll be needing if I ever hear the words "ultimate" or "definitive" again, eVaH....
The CROWN had to be taken by the special needs field trip of speciality duh-brains who sat their complaining that the RS200 isn't a "proper retro" rally car.
After that hearing some nit telling another nit saying that the Austin Maxi and the Hillman Hunter use the same 1750 engine...
Gits.
So sit back and enjoy some of the pictures. The rest are coming when the bloody computer will process the suckers.
Oh, and props to the guys in the Fiat 131 Sport with the R-R stickers on the M1, I recognise the car from here but can't recall who owns it...
