What's the cheapest you can get LPG nowadays, the dearest you have seen it and what's about average around where you are all from? Just curious really, our local has gone up recently and is always more expensive than the average places... IIRC the nearest wholesaler is FloGas which sells it at 42.5p/litre but I think that may have gone up recently. When I had my car first converted that place used to sell at 29.9p Dearest I have seen is 59.9p/litre but that was a motorway services Average of about 50-52p My local (morrisons) has just gone up to 57.9p which I'm pi ssed off about because that's just cost me over £40 for a tank for the first time ever. Sooooo glad I don't buy that much petrol

last time I was in uk, I'm pretty sure I saw it between 60 and 65p in a few places around aberdeenshire. At that sort of price, it starts to become debateable whether its worth converting unless you do massive mileages.

I pay 49.9ppl at Asda in Spondon, Derby - it was 39.9ppl about 18 months ago. Most expensive in the area is the BP station at the end of the road, that was about 60ppl last time I looked...

It's still worth it as petrol is 50p/l more expensive
And yes, I do 30,000 miles a year in a 3.0 24v, so the conversion has waaaaay paid for itself!

If it's petrol, then it needs an LPG conversion (generally start at around £500ish for a DIY one - www.tinleytech.co.uk is a good place to start), if it's diesel, then it *may* run on veg oil, I'll wait for the more knowledgable to come along and answer that one!

Speak to JohnCedric regarding gas conversions. Hes looking into gassing up my Audi 100. I'm stuffed if I'm paying 110 a litre for petrol!

where i fill up - Morrisons in Kilmarnock - has just went up from 49.9p to 52.9p which is a pain as its 30mile round trip to get there and fill up, which is where LPG lets me down - there is no where near me, luckily this is kind of en route to work, but even at work in Edinburgh there is limited choice which is pants for a big city.
just found out that Q8 services on M77 are at 49.9p so will be going there, still PITA unless its on a work day.

The prices are still not cheap compared to what it costs to get a full conversion fitted in some other countries - less than half of the price of the DIY kit... When you look at what is provided in the kits I really don't see where the money is either Remember, it actually costs Renault just over US$1100 (600 quid) to build a complete Logan car....

LP ghas is grossly overpriced for what it is,as per usual the oil companies have seized upon a great revenue stream and are gouging us flat out . here in OZ the damn stuff is pump from ther ground so theres no arabs or yank speculators to drive up the price but i have seen it as high as 80 cents per liter. heres a very interesting article everyone should read about the benefits or otherwise. blog.autospeed.com/2008/03/18/the-most-important-article-of-the-year/

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.
