Ohhh & the biggest history folder you've ever ever seen. Pics will be along once the weekend is over And yes I do beleive a diff, coilovers & lowering is in order, but I'll be keeping it sleeper mode

Sleeper mode with the body kit on? I know what this looks like, remember it when it was on ebay a while back, thought 'hmmm, thats nice, wish I could use it, but too pricey'...
Nice one. Can I have the soarer then?

Cool, the GLT is the top spec one with the 2.0i lump. Should be a funny little ride once the suspension is firmed up.
Waits pics with excitement ;D

Nice one. Can I have the soarer then? Mmmm possibly, though we'd have to come to some arrangement that you could only sell it back it to me should I need it for the future.... Sort of permanent loan arrangement, Sure it could be available though

I'm liking these Volvos more and more by the day. I remember my Grandparents had a T reg 340 GLT when I was very young. Actually quite impressed with myself I remembered what it was

The VOC is ok, but there are too many purists on there who frown at the thought of anything fun. The lack of knowledge is shocking in some cases, (so many "how do I fit a wastegate/dump valve/cbv/blow off valve or whatever it is to my engine and how loud will it be" questions (though I guess we all start somewhere) although there are a few chaps on there who really know there stuff and are willing to give good advice.
Try V300m (volvo 300 mania) and turbobricks for more performance oriented stuff.

There arnt any "you will rot in hell" purists on the VOC site, just those who like originality. Theres certainly quite a few who like modding their steeds, a good mix i think. Theres something for everyone. If nobody knows the answer to a question they can usually point you in the direction of someone who does.

To be honest I cant think of any, but then I'm not a demon modder like yourself Maybe I just don't come into contact with them. Its a good forum if you want to know all about the carb on your 1982 240 or why the fuel gauge doesnt work on your 740 or want an in deph discussion on pre face lift 340s but I guess for outright peformance Turbobricks would be the best resource.

Nowhere near 180bhp without a turbo or 16v mate. Turbo 2.3 get between 165-182 bhp depending on model/engine. In my defence, I was always a bit sceptical about the claimed power, but IIRC it was from a reasonable source (like maybe the Volvo handbook). Mind you it is about five years since I got rid of my 240 so it could have just grown with age - as someone on the BR forum uses for their signature: "the older I get, the faster I was"

That's a lovely, lovely car that one is.... I hope it gets kept well, and not drifted on 13" minilites which is seemingly far too outplayed at the moment ;D It also has some rare accessories afaik... you might do well to sell them off on 300 mania to help pay for some mods
