Brian Damaged invited me to this a few weeks ago, lucky I put a reminder on the mobile, or else I would have regretted missing it. Was still in Bed with Miss Grizz (new one who likes and knows cars, bikes and od military vehichles ) when the reminder went off, jumped up, and she was ready before me..... ;D Got there and got a coffee, not even finished with the coffee, and I saw Briandamaged walking over with V8Devon (Dave) to go off to do some wheeling and dealing. Chatted fror a bit, then we went off and I have to say, Kudo's to Nicola fo keeping up with me, and not once getting pisssed or grumpy while I was overdosing on cars and stuff. Below are some of the 120 pics I took today, random, as we saw them, and soem not totally on thread, but hey.... makes a good day. Bought only a T-shirt for Miss Grizz (Fanny's Buffing service) and a small 1:43 model of a Renault Dauphine. OK, here comes the pics...... Miss Grizz getting an eye full. Seeing double.... Low drag cab anyone..... Modern talking. Rest of the front of this car was missing, seems to have had a hard front ender. Plastic Fantastic Priced from £100.00 to £175.00 Confession Time.At this point I pretty much crashed my Yoghurt truck. As Miss Grizz did say.... One project at a time. Honestly, if I had the space etc..... this would be my ride. Rimzzzz £50.00 for the set. Very neat. Where is that tow truck thread Does anyone know this truck ? Seems to be a drag strip refugee. Maybe my favourite pic of the day.... Owner selss retro and collectable magazines etc. Attention, SETH. Devil is in the Details..... Magnificent. Old Storm trooper..... PA-TI-NA !!!!! Metal flake bonnet

I fell in love with that panel too, I'd even have left the Snowflake rims on it ('Dare to be Different' etc etc). Looks like pretty much what floated your boat, floated mine too. And just what is it about Retro-Rides that had Dave and I discussing the relative merits of Raleigh Chippers and Tomahawks (although I'd struggle to ride one now......one speed bump and you'd never see it again)?? Was a pleasure to meet you at last, Bro.

Great to meet you as well Brian. I am sure you noted, I had to make sure I kept Nicola in the loop, as it was our first "Grown up date" where we did something I wanted to do. Last weekend we did shopping. What was really great versus last years RR'07 where I left by lunch time in a temper, because my guesst was BORED and had no girly things to do, was that Miss Grizz actually enjoyed some of the stuff , and indulged me all my rude fantasies and perving at things automotive. Thanks Nicola. ;D ;D ;D Anyway, looks like there were quite a few of us from the board there. Oh, did I mention that that that that that..... erm...... that this really crashed my Yoghurt truck ?
I could honestly go break the piggy bank, and if I could find someone to rebuild the mechanics , but leave the patina and just replace the glass as needed..... Ohhhhhh I would yes.I fell in love with that panel too, I'd even have left the Snowflake rims on it ('Dare to be Different' etc etc). Looks like pretty much what floated your boat, floated mine too. And just what is it about Retro-Rides that had Dave and I discussing the relative merits of Raleigh Chippers and Tomahawks (although I'd struggle to ride one now......one speed bump and you'd never see it again)?? it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

If you lived in Jo-Burg, then SA Television may have been part of your life. In the late 70's or early 80's there was a TV programme, French if I recall correctly, which was about a rallying Renault Dauphine. ;D Do you maybe recall it ? I finished school in 1980 to put it in perspective. PS: My purchase of the day...... Love it to bits. Renault Dauphine. They have a racing legacy too. ;D Got a soft spot for those Renault Dauphines.
