Have an 02 renault Trafic with the 1.9dci and 57000 miles on it...
Had huge problems with it this week, just cutting out and dieing on me.... switch ign off and back on again and it restarts....
Been a bit "Flat" performance wise but I put that down to limp home mode as well....
Fault codes were fuel pressure. stop engine light on when it cuts out, and engine light flashing
Diagnosed as probably Crank sensor, which is a previous problem so had it in to dealers today to change.....
£86 later and fault codes cleared.... 100 m out of the dealer and it cuts again, with stop lights flashing etc - same as before
Dealer fault code shows up as fuel pressure and suspects HP Pump (Which he would given that its £900 odd )
Strange thing is, the low pressure pump prime has disappeared on startup only noticed today....
Now the LP pump has been deleted on later models, but they couldnt tell me if the HP Pump part number was the same on Vans with LP pumps and without
As I suspect they up issued the HP pump when they deleted the LP pump to allow it to self prime ??
Any Ideas on next course of action ? or any recommendations on somewhere good to take it to
I have a job now where for the time being I am commuting 800 miles a week so I need something reliable ....... the van is not fullfilling that role at the moment...
don't mind paying for the problem to get sorted but don't want to be paying for HP pumps fitting only to find the problem is actually elsewhere
Any Help please ?.......
Cheers
Dom
