Well, dropped my Mobile today, got loads of pics on it, and other stuff , including a zillion important texts.... oh and of course, it is a phone, so some telephone numbers. Now the screen is totally black, so I cannot see a bloody thing, I went and bought the same phone as a replacement, but how do I get 100% all of the data transfered over to the new phone ?? Mods, I hope you will let this run a few minutes till the answer is on the wall. In the mean time...... a pic from the phone. or is it ?

Do you have a USB cable for your phone? I don't know about yours, but when I plug mine in I can access all the data using the PC and not having to use the phone. I'm taking it that it's just the screen that is fubar'd

Does your phone have bluetooth and is it switched on. If so you should be able to connect to the phone via that. If you use your PC to connect it will send a code to the phone, which you won't be able to see but you can still type in (the code should be displayed on the computer)
Once connected you should be able to navigate your phones files.

Hmmmmmmm. You probably can't.
If it's a fancy-pants PDA phone like mine then just plug it in with USB and you get full access to the internal drive and storage card to copy everything off. You can even get tools to 'migrate' to a new phone, is copies everything off then back onto your new one. HOWEVER, I've never seen a regular phone do this. Often you can access pictures and stuff via USB but when you plug it in it'll pop up a thing on the screen (which you can't see) and ask what you want to do - go into file transfer mode, print pictures and so on. You might get lucky by hitting random buttons but you might not... also I've never seen a phone allow access to text messages and your phone book like this, only music files and pictures and stuff.
I'd be tempted to take both phones apart, and swap the screens over. Normally a fairly trivial task if you've got the right screwdriver and a steady hand, these days there's no soldering needed and you just need to remember where bits came from. Depends on the phone model though. I did a Nokia 7110 screen in 5 minutes the first time.

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.

I think we're gonna get a b0llocking from a mod in a minute but...
On my phone (Samsung D900) you can access everything via USB and don't need to touch the phone. You can also transfer files back onto the phone (pics, phone numbers, mp3's, even word docs and other stuff 'cept it wont read those, just store 'em). The only thing I'm not so sure about is the text messages - I've never tried that on my phone!
Also, the USB connection should charge your battery so you won't run out of juice.

text messages and phone numbers are more likely to be stored on the sim card than in the phone memory so swapping the sim into the new phone should jsut port them over automatically
