As i can hardly find any on the net, anyone got any pics of Mazda 323s like this? Also, as you can see, it needs whacking with the stick, but where would i get springs? cheers J

Majorly overlooked, these cars - that's why I like 'em! Wasn't there a South African Sao Penza version?!
You could try aftermarket spring manufacturers like PI or somesuch, but if you wanna slam it, the grinder is king! ;D

How about the Pick-up version? I`ve had loads of 323s, including 2 your shape, I love these cars. I had a Javelin that was a similar colour to that, and if I still had it now I would be looking at two-toning it I reckon, possibly a darker shade of bronze for the bottom half. As far as lowering is concerned I did seriously think about it for my current 323 but decided against it as I think the handling & ride of these cars is pretty much a perfect compromise for day to day driving and I didn`t want to mess with it. If this isn`t your only car then this won`t be an issue. Does the 2nd choke come in OK on this one? 1.3 323s are the best thing in the world when the twin choke carb is working properly, it`s like a tiny little turbo cutting in.

Second choke comes in ok, know what you mean about it being a little turbo. Seem to have a heat related fuel problem which am looking at today.
Anyone know what wheels would fit?

Yes, the entire Vauxhall range should be yours for the perusal. I had Manta alloys on mine. Pretty sure Rover 200 wheels as well for what its worth.
Any fuelling probs with a 323 - start with the fuel filter, cost a pound and easy to fit so eliminate that first. What are the symptoms?

runs perfectly, then after about 10 mins on the dual carrageway, it starts losing power, then on tickover runs lumpy, then has lack of power and faulters under load. doesnt recover till stone cold.
The vauxhall range you say? goes off to ebay

Bit of a strange one, I`ve known all the symptoms but not at the same time or in that chronological order. Flat spots and poor running on these I have found is usually down to the timing or distributor beginning to break down, I have also known it to be an exhaust blockage on one the same age as yours but a 1.5. Can`t think why it would be fine until it gets up to temp, though. Odd.

Nosed about today, plugs suggested major leaness, like hugely, and gas analyser confirmed.
Looks like its burnt the plugs out, so fitted a new set and just been for a 50 mile drive, seems to be ok
So back to wheels..
put a tape measure across the wheel nuts as a quick check, and they seem to be bigger than 100mm

Yeah I don't think they're 4x100, more like 4x114.3 Heres my 323: Also a 1.3. Just passed the MOT yesterday, a great car if a bit dull.

Cool Pics of mine if you like.....4X4 1987 Turbo...work in progress Saab Ronal alloys in graphite grey by the way As for suspension....you can either modify MK2/MK3 golf stuff as that is a close fit....or you can get Gaz suspension to make up a set of coilovers and will only cost you £550 or so...I would highlt recommend them! I have some suitable 5x114 alloys here, think they are mitsi ones from an early Evo with some decent snow tyres too, need the space so they'd be cheap.
