You mean this one ? With my Taunus Transit, I would love to have a replica race car like a BMW 2002 or 1602 in similar colours on a trailer behind it, like this.

Spotted in Karachi, Saudi. Apparently, the chains fend off evil spirits...or so the man said. ^^^ Not tow trucks, but interesting all the same! YES! 'saudi look' here we come! ;D

Not really THAT alternative, though it's pretty unusual to see a Holmes 220 on the back of a CF. It's my dad's, and it's road legal! I drove it on the road run to the CVRTC show at Gaydon a few years ago, all that weight with only a 4.108 Perkins to haul it along means that performance is best described as 'leisurely'. Top whack is about 55, but one she's there, she'll stay there. No synchromesh left on the stock CF four-speeder, and no power steering either. A proper 'man's truck' to drive. I love it.

Brian, if you don't mind me asking, how come he has a crane and a spec lift? I've seen a couple of trucks like this over the years and always wondered why they had both. The spec looks like a decent bit of kit by the way, is it electric or hydraulic?

I think the crane operates the spec?

Yeah the crane operates the spec-lift, it's all-electric.

those bikes are nuts!! kind of the evolution of the dispatch tow- or the harley servicar although they didn't tow as such. basically you rode out, fixed the car, then towed the trike back to the garage with the car you just fixed-

Have a look at Alan Moffat's race car transporter (just google it). It was way ahead of its time, pity they couldn't get some decent brakes for it!
