I thought FAN745Y on a Lambo i saw was quite clever. I scrapped a 105E years ago that had RU 12 plate on it. More than 25 years ago a mate bought a Austin Maxi that he saw in a supermarket car park cos the plate was FLA 5H. I lost touch with him but noticed the plate has only just resurfaced

There is a ice cream van going around here with P14 KEY cos he is one apparently. I used to own a recovery truck with C1 4 TOW. I also know this guy who has an Anglia with the plate 105E on it. What a cracking plate that is. I currently have this on my Frontera because i'm a Brisca Formula 2 Stock car nut.

My uncle has a '67 Camaro with the numberplate COUPE. He's had it for decades, before there was big money in personalised plates. He's had quite a few numberplate collectors at car shows offer to buy his Camaro for double it's value to get the plate!

There's a silver Noble running around locally with THE 571G, and also on Chelsea waterfront there's a Bentley and an Aston Martin that park side-by-side with the plates 2 BE and NOT 2 B.

Passed a new black Rande Rover with tints etc with the plat WH05FLY. A sneaky wee marks had made it WHO'S FLY Also a there are a couple of Land Rovers near me with T11URF and T111URF - mostly seen hauling trailers of turf around. Local newspapers last week had the schocking news that the Lord Provost of Edinburgh had an illegally space plate on his Lexus. The plate is S0 (with a zero) but the character's were too close together. Turns out he's been driving atound with SO by mistake! Luckily some kind citizen reported him to the Police

on Chelsea waterfront there's a Bentley and an Aston Martin that park side-by-side with the plates 2 BE and NOT 2 B. That's quite near where I live so I took a stroll down there on Saturday - the house has a blue plaque on the side saying that Hilaire Belloc used to live there, and Google tells me it's a 5-storey gaff with a cinema and a lift. Nice. The Bentley wasn't there at the time, so here's an old pic of 'em from Flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/benpatio/256235379/

My dad and his mate in their youth had 1M KO and 1M OK, refused to sell them to some boxer of the time. Regretted it massively later, when they realised how much they'd have got. He's reeled off lists of numberplates to me before that he's owned, some would be worth fortunes. Apparently in the 60's and 70's they werent worth a fraction of what they were now, and it was easier to sell cars with them on than transfer them off.
