Be good to see those mystery 'extras' That was a few years ago now. I've forgotten what they were! I think I was probably talking about the works-style front mount oil cooler with quick-jack mounts, and a switch panel that allowed me to delete the centre console. I've changed very little on the car really, although I've had three or four diffs in and out of it. It's certainly no hillclimb car, so I hope nobody expects too much from it. It was built for droning around Fuji Speedway for lap after lap, and the 'dogleg' first gear and relatively tall second will not be a good combo for Prescott. It's just fun to show the car to people who haven't had the chance to see one in the metal before. Thanks for the invite! I'm looking forward to it. Cheers! Alan T.

I fell over when I heard this was coming to RRG12!! I've loved this car since I first saw pictures of it but I've never seen it in the metal! I'm so very excited to see/hear this in Aug.... I may have to ask you politely if I can gently touch it with freshly washed hands, THAT would be the last time that hand ever gets washed lmao

i'm with BiAS on this. I LOVED seeing it at RR07, walked around it for half an hour when it was sitting in the pits at the end of the day.

Alan, was the car transported back to Japan for the Nismo event, or was this shortly after it was built by NP35/before it's shipping to the UK? I am not up to speed with how long this GTR has been in the UK.
Cheers, Conor.

The car took part in the 2005 NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway ( December 2005 ) shortly after it's refurb by NP35 was completed.
It was featured in a four page article in the Feb. 2006 ( vol. 113 ) issue of Nostalgic Hero magazine, but the photos were actually taken on location just a few weeks before the NISMO Festival.
It then took part in the 2006 'Time Machine Festival' event at Fuji Speedway, where it was driven by ex-Honda GP rider and ex-Nissan works team driver ( and one time F1 driver! ) Kunimitsu Takahashi.
After that it went back to NP35's workshops, and was eventually taken to Yokohama to be put into a container and sent to the UK. I picked it up from Southampton in July 2006, and it's been here ever since.

Thanks for clearing that up. A nice comprehensive histroy for you with some special events. I take it you were present at all of them/ the rebuild process?

I take it you were present at all of them/ the rebuild process? I was at the 2005 NISMO Festival with the NP35-affiliated 'crew', and it was great fun. Honestly, the best day was the Saturday build-up day. Nothing to do with the fact that it snowed on Sunday afternoon though... I couldn't make it over to Japan for the 2006 Time Machine Festival. Yes, I had seen the car at the NP35 workshop all the way through the resto/refurb process. It was there whenever I visited Japan over something like a 3 year period. I didn't pay all that much attention to it at first, as I had no idea it was going to end up being mine....
