not as in 2nd hand, but as in being used. Who's got their classic/retro safely tucked up in bed for the winter and who's watching theirs rust as they spank it about in the rain and the salt and the crappy weather.... Crappy pics but you get the idea. I wash mine about 1ce a week as well.

White classic in the winter? yup. Hauling all sorts of odd stuff. I really should drive the 626 when its snowing, but its about the only time I can get the chevanne sideways (195/60 -14 tyres, 1256 pushrod up front )

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

I've never stored a car through bad weather. Snow is a perfect excuse for some slow speed sideways action. Besides, if it rusts, fix it! Isn't that what we're all about?

Good topic! I was driving the Galant daily until one of the calipers seized up and that's the oldest of my fleet, how's that for turning things on their head?
You can still keep a car in mint condition driving it through the winter, you just have to pay a lot more attention to it. Keep hosing the underside insides of arches out and washing weekly is pretty much a must.

My Mrs uses the 420SEL for her daily 30 mile round-trip commute, my pickup is technically off the road, but only 'cos I was too skint to buy tax for it last month! And I'm using my 23 year old motorbike daily anyway, so it's all full of retro goodness here!
The Merc gets washed most weeks, and though the wings are getting a bit rusty, I've got a spare pair I need to spray up before the next MOT!

Sorry but mines tucked up too - It's taxed, tested and insured but it doesn't live very well outside and as a daily driver it's no longer practical....... was hoping to give it a blast at Xmas but the weather was rubbish Roll on spring

I use mine every single day. It lives outside too so gets the worst of both evils. We havent had any snow here at all so the retro car destroyers salt trucks aint been round really. I am keeping a measure on the growth of the rust on my feeble j-tin....approx 1-2mm a month ATM LOL I couldnt live without the daily grin it gives me TBH

lol Seth. Last pic made me chuckle. 2CV was for a time, my sole car through the winter as I didn't want to use the Renner 5 much. In fact, the Renner is now hiding in the garage but now I have the Merc, the 2CV and it share the daily slog and both sit outside. Mainly because my garage is full now! 2CV had a full rebuild a few years back so I give her a wash down every now and then but generally pray that the underseal and waxoyl do their job... The 2CV is technically my modern car too as it's the youngest vehicle that we own!

My lada gets used every day, its the only car ive got, infact every car ive ever had has been a classic (see below, ignore the escort ) and everyone ive had has always been my daily transport, even my third car which was a near concourse mini clubman estate, rain, snow, salt, the lot. I'm not a great fan of modern cars, even though I don't like to think about the sa*t making the car rust ill always use a classic everyday, I wouldnt have it any other way. That is of course unless I got given a company car, and that aint never gonna happen, so ill stick to my classics thanks

I don't have a daily driver (Mrs BB has a modern car for daily use/school run) as I drive an orange van which comes home with me.
I did have 60's and 70's cars as my daily drivers many, many years, but the Volvo will be a pampered toy once finished. With lots of polished/shiny bits, a full cage with door bars and a motor running a truck turbo it's not going to be daily driver materials anyway! But at least it won't be trailered to the drag strip.............
......although that's only because I can't afford a tow car or trailer..........

I use my Polo coupe most days to get to work. I try to use the Scimitar SST at least once a week, but it doesnt get as much use in the Winter as even with the hardtop it's not 100% watertight so I end up with a wet . The Scimitar GTE will also be used all year round once it's repaired. ;D

I've used me Bug for the last 3 winters. Although I did have to replace one of the wings where the salt spray rotted it from the inside out.

Was going to find some pics of my 2CV looking filthy but she's been done in two-pack so even when she's dirty, she doesn't look it. Kind of like Christina Aguilera before the DIRRRRTY video.
