Nice Manta, I had one once, a hatchback. It was a lovely car.
Funny, most of us have the same troubles, wife/girlfriend, no cash, no time.....!!!!

Hi, welcome aboard!! Very nice looking motor..... There's a white one parked outside a house a few minutes walk from us..... hasn't moved for a long time, but strangely it looks in really good nick.... no rust that I can see..... I'm half tempted to knock on the door and see if it's for sale.....
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

hi mattblack there is a white one i was told about in my area 2.0 exclusive coupe with private plate so i did go and knock on his door boy did that man have some strange ideas!!! he had owned it from new and still had the original purchase receipt - which is good - v v good! ;D but it had stood for a couple of years on grass under trees Apparently he couldn't get the money he wanted for it when he bought another car so parked it up and is convinced it is only making money while it is standing there!! i would have agreed if it had been garaged but outside! on grass! under trees! all he will be left with is a pile of rusty metal and mouldy fabric!!! some people have strange ideas on how to preserve a nice classic

Welcome to the forum...the 2.2 sounds like a neat swap, is it a simple job?

the engine swap was quite easy actually
bolts straight in to the 2.0 gearbox
Had a few small problems - main one being the harness the ecu harness plugs into the main power harness - even thought the plugs are the same the wires are in a different configuration!!!!
took a while to work it out but we had time because it took the dealers over a week to get me an inlet/exhaust manifold gasket
this gives tonycocacola a lead in to slag me off!! you see we work together on motors and there have been a few accidents I keep hitting him with gearboxes!!! but i am sure he will have more to say on the subject!!
