BangerBoys FintasyCome on then! Alot of folk have said how much of a heinous "sport" banger racing is.... BUT what's the reckoning that this handsome beast will be meeting it's end on the dirt oval early in 2005. These estates must be PROPER rare now. Anyone feeling brave / stupid* enough to take it on? Don't forget you could always supplant the standard powerplant with a tweaked marina or MGB unit. Or just go V8 crazy... (*delete as appropriate) Should we start a contingency fund?

Is there anyone who does have the time/cash/space to keep and restore that, I certainly don't, but it'd be nice to see it back on the road, never owned a Farina style Oxford/Camridge/etc, but my grandad used to love them, had about three, still remember the stories about the ridiculous bodges he used to do to them when they broke down (must be where I got it from?! ;D ;D)

All it needs are a good slamming and a couple of surfboards on the roof.....
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Austin Cambridge/Morris Oxford estates are getting scarce now, the saloon A60's are still out their and more are turning up daily. Would love to own one on the road and know where i can pick one up. My love for bangers is now known on here but so be it, however a few years back there was an A60 ROOF-CHOP raced at a Pre 68 meeting. A60's are seriously cool, as are thier big brothers the A99/A110 westminsters and the Wolsey 6/99 and 6/110. Now the modding guide, keep the colour scheme, drop it Cal-Look style, raked front, lose the centre hub caps and run it on the steels.

Would look great with a scaffolding rool cage, a bad paint job and driven to death round an oval dirt track!
I am joking by the way. ;D

Good thing you said that, or we'd all be round there to crucify you! ;D ;D ;D ;D Nah, as I said before, if a motor is genuinely rough and is not likely to be restored, and isn't so rare or historically important that it should be restored, then by all means banger it, and let it go down in a blaze of glory instead of lying in a field taking up space and getting vandalised by bloody neds.

One of those pulled up next to me not long ago at a petrol station, I think they'd respond well to a good lowering and a V6 or something in there!
