get them slot mags on it, that'll be less weight to carry round! I was talking to the mate that I got your wheels off ak, and they did actually come off a tina (a mk4 though) - which he got in, took the wheels off - and baled!! - kev ps - 19.1 mpg? - think the hunter does around that, or at least it feels like it does (wallet empty)

having a car wet in the photo "covers up" that the paint is matt and the body is dinged. So a wet car I assume to be bad of body.
rear screen is an issue. probably will result in a no-sale because of it. glass for those tanks can be hard (or at least expensive) to get hold of

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

People always wet tyres when they put them on ebay. What's that all about? Suppose it makes them look newer.
Older cars are green. Recycling them uses up loads of energy as does manufacturing a new replacement. Retro driver = Eco warrior / tree hugger.

All those little globules of water take the eye off everything. Washing a car and leaving it to dry can actually accentuate grisly bits of paint, I find.

I can get 19 out of the Grey whale if I go more town than motorway. And that is a 4.0. WTF are you doing?

Sounds like a minor thing, but blacked up (wet-look or not, up to you) tyres can make a massive difference to the overall look of a car. It's a nifty little trick!

fuel consumption has been dropping off for a couple of weeks. Tine to do a bit of a tune up I suspect. But its mostly city driving, cold weather, fair amount of idling to warm it up, that sort of thing.
Its got the 1600 xflow rear axle / diff.
gloss blacked tyres (pretty much) always look awful. ALways makes me thing "tarted up knacker"

the old fairy liquid trick is good for tyre appearance, but i think last clean, a mix of bike cleaner 'Sh1t Shifter' with brush on the wheels and tripplewax shampoo everywhere, cleaned tyres up a treat with min effort. scary fuel consumption a service could save a few ££'s over the coming weeks by sound of it.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Grey? Black? Brown? The Cortina has excellend itsenf and returned 19.1 MPG this week. 200 miles on just over £50 worth. Blimey. thats what mine was doing with a knackered 2.3 engine... not sure what my new 2.8 will be like you should get nearer 30mpg on a run

That's really not very good is it? I thought the Range Rover I've just bought was bad at 13mpg, but that's on LPG and it'll pull 3.5tonnes... You need to be doing something about that really.

its a 2.0 pinto in a 1.6 crossflow car. 'box and axle are both x/f spec. I usually get 23-24 MPG out of it which is what I got out of my 1600 crossflow one before it. (although its been going downhill a bit since before xmas) And its not far off what Ford claim is the MPG for the car. The 2.0 is far better on fuel than the 1.6 x/f mostly due to the torque improvement allowing far taller gearing as well as you being able to drive on the torque curve not on the power curve and getting more for your gallon that way. I've had 30 MPG out of my old 4 speed manual 2.0 Cortinas, if driven really gently or on long steady runs. I'd expect upper 20s from a stock 2.0 driven "normally". I'd expect mid 20s from a 2.0 with 1600 x/f gearing. The car is used very much for "mixed" driving. Commute to work, a few longer runs but with todays traffic you never get the long clear runs we used to.
