Saw these for sale in Orpington in December, did not buy one, as I needed to see if it was worth doing. Seems it is. Regular price from Screwfix = £80.00 Special price = £50.00 10kw Gas heater with electric fan. Filled an old 7kg gas bottle = £16.00 Heater uses 700g of gas/hr so around 9-10 hrs there. At least now I can play in the garage when I want to at night. Anyone got experience of using these ? I had one, fecked if I know what happened to it though, i assume i left it behind when I moved I had it plumbed to two of those big propane tanks that stand about 5 feet high (27kg?) it warmed the place up a treat and was a handy heatsource to soften up hoses and other things when required.

These things are great....space heaters FTW! Great for lighting the ciggies too - just make sure you hold them in front rather than lean in 'fag in mouth'...
...ouch!

My mate just bought one of those from machine mart. Work fine in a garage.

I grabbed one recently, and in my garage (no insulation, no ceiling) it brings the area around the heater up to 10* (celcius), with only an hour or so of run time on the low setting. It was -3* this weekend and I was toasty warm inside. If you've got insulation, you'll be very comfy.

No insulation, double garage and a bit size space, and a bunch of holes in the door frame area, where the roof sheets meet the frame..... guess old newspaper stuffed in the holes will fix that then.

If it burns with a blue flame, which it does, then the conbustion is such that carbon monoxide levels are comparitively low.
A bit like your cooker, blue flames, so you don't die of carbon monoxide poisoning when boiling your spuds.

We have a frickin big space heater that runs on puppies and baby seals - it looks like a jet engine and i've always wanted to use it to propel the car

Just had a thought about our pie heater, runs on paraffin/diseasel not gas so works out quite a bit cheaper per hour.

they are great we used to have one at our old workshop the new one is a little bit better insulated so we just have a little paraffin burner proper retro looking thing an alladin 209 one prob with the propane heaters is that they produce a lot of condensation so if its in a workshop with a single skin tin roof be prepared for it to rain in there ;D parrafin one make ya pies taste funny ;D ;D
