Dave brings one of his boys along to help, learn, travel, grow, develop and generally just bond even more every time he comes to the UK or elsewhere in Europe.
The previous two times he was here he had promised Christian the 13 year old and younger of the boys that he would get him Real English Fish and Chips for his dinner.
Last night was a perfect example of what happens though.
When we finished at the ACE Cafe, and drove home here to Rochester, we only got home at 22.05, which meant the Chippy was long gone closed.
So as plan "B" we ended up having a great Kebab at the local one, and Christian had Kebab house Fish and chips.
Tonight though, after buying out half of Morrisons in provisions for the next 6 months, as some UK products just never get sold in Germany, we went to the local Chippy for Medium Cod and Chips.
Needless to say..... it went down a treat and Dave could walk away honour intact, with a son who could now understand why Dad goes on about British Fish and Chips.
The two of them with the Cosworth set off tonight at 9pm for Folkestone, over to Dunkerque and then a kip on the other side, in the car, and then the long way home to Osnabruck.
Thanks to Dave and Christian for a great couple of days, and bringing my van.
Last pics before I start the whole story in a thread to bring the preceding happenings to a current point in the Readars Rides.
Got spare everything from the second scrap van, engine, front, rear suspension, lights, glass, etc etc etc...... and 4 15 inch wheels to band ;D ;D ;D
Also got three very long, heavy and galvanised uprights from Daves factory to make up a carport in the mean time.
Dave on his knees again, doing what I should have been doing, cleaning.
Look at the size of him in the rear of the van...... Don't mess with him springs to mind.
