Well, my roadtrip only kicked off this morning when Dave and Christian, his younger son got here.
They set off last night at 18.00 from Osnabruck to Dunkerque to ferry over to Folkestone.
At 06.45 Dave called from the car to tell me the Leggy Blonde on the dash sugested they were close to my place.
At 07.00 as discussed and agreed weeks ago, with typical German precision they knocked at my door.
We unloaded the van, then popped to the Post office depot to pick up a parcel, and from there shot to Mickeys Diner on Blue Bell Hill for a Full English Brekkie.
After this we left for Cirencester about 150 miles away , trailer in tow, to fetch and pay for the Cossie Granada I had gone to check out for Dave yesterday, We got there, met up with another Dave, who recently plonked a V6 Cossie into his Capri that was his first car at 18, he is 30 now. Nice guy, pointed here, and also very knowlegeable , a Ford Fan, through and through.
We then hit the road back, toward the ACE Cafe, to meet up with Seth, and Jon (V8Wagon) for a drink and chat. On the way we stopped to satisfy Christians 13 year old worms with some KFC !!
Comming up to the Hanger Lane Gyratory, the Blonde on the dash did well, at which point she completely took us the wrong way, about 7 miles off track.
In the end I got Dave to stop at a Fire Station, where the one crew was just leaving, so they gave us an escort to get us back to the ACE, where we met up with the guys and had a great evening.
Random pics of the day as it evolved.
Starting with delivery in the dark.
Lambo at full Zoom..... Dave was held back by the trailer, or else we would have delivered a better piccie.
One for Dave and his Gulf van
WTF ??
plums ALERT !!
WORM FEEDING TIME.
SETH-Mobile .....
DESTINATION 2 for the day.
SUCCESS AT LAST !!
OUR GALLANT HEROES..... Thanks to the fire truck crew for the "escort"
A great day out by all, and considering Dave did 1300km to get my van here, and pick up his new Mottah , I do agree.....
