Can't figure out how to express my excitement so here are two posts combined.
On Saturday we headed to the Great British Car Journey in Derby so I could drive the mk1 Ford Granada as a Birthday present. While we we're there I decided to get an extra drive as they had a Black friday deal on. Seen as there was a Scimitar I thought, lets see what both Ford V6's are like.
The Granada was everything I'd wanted it to be. It felt huge and wafted around with the lightest touch thanks to the power steering. You can see why it was always leaning over in the Sweeney. I'm so gutted they're probably finically out of reach as it would be an amazing classic to own. This one had the 2.5L V6 which still had a lot of "get up and go" but was more of a cruiser than sports car of course. I can imagine with the 3.0 it would be quite something. Still amazing and sounded fantastic and I want one!
The Scimitar caught me off guard to be honest. I see them for sale a lot and as a Capri owner see them compared quite a lot so thought it would be a good idea to see what they were about. Getting in I was slightly disappointed that it was an Auto but I quickly realised that wasnt a problem. It felt like a sports car! The steering was light/tight and the acceleration immense!! It quickly dawned on my I should have saved up for a 3.0 Capri rather than the 2.0 Pinto. All I could think of when driving the Scimitar is why don't I own one of these!!
My best 70s pose here.
Then I started thinking, really the 3.0 Capri is probably the best of both worlds and since then I've just been looking through facebook for a 3.0 V6 engine to swap in to mine haha!
So go on then, give me some Ford V6 goodness. Stories, Engines swaps whatever you got!
