I was talking to an ex neighbour of mine (he only moved two streets away) and it turns out that he still has his 19(7)82 Vauxhall Astra. He said that he will not sell it as he would be lucky to get £500 for it. It's rust free, two owners and a genuine 50,000 miles. So, any opinions as to the actual value.

1982, surely? 1972 would be a Viva...

Practical classics price guide is pretty good for that sort of thing. 2022 is newest I could find but that would be close enough. Providing we are talking Astra and not Viva

It would get £500 all day long. Best advice for this kind of thing is send it some where like ACA where they seem to market them well and get good prices, a colleagues mums late Rover 800 made good money and less messers than advertising privately.
