Purchased as a rolling project to upgrade and enjoy but sadly I never got the time to get the project going and it's been sat under cover on the driveway since.
The car was imported from South Africa last year. All taxes and fees have been paid and the car is registered in the UK, Tax and MOT exempt. The car is SORN
This is a 1975, last year of production model. Registered on a UK 'N' suffix registration.
It has the original 1200cc A Series engine with a GX large port head, twin SU carbs, 4 speed manual.
At some point in its life it has been painted from white to orange, it looks good in pictures and from a distance but up close you can see the quality of the work. It's typical of a Japanese car of this era from what I've seen, think your usual Thailand or Africa quality.
There are some issues I know about and I'm sure there are others that I haven't found or noticed.
The wiring is a mess, typical old car stuff where things have been added and removed.
No ignition barrel.
The floor will need welding under the drivers feet. Complete replacement panels avaliable online, but if you are handy, I'm sure they're easy to fabricate. I am not a welder or fabricator. £200 for a set of panels or fab your own.
Probably more rust I haven't found.
Rubber trim mostly dry and cracked.
The car did run and drive (ran when parked) I can show videos but with the electrics how they are, I'd not suggest it's safe to try.
The gearbox and clutch work, diff, suspension and brakes all work.
Interior has some cracks on the plastics, carpet isn't original, door cards aren't great.
It’s a 50 year old car, viewing and inspection is highly recommended.
I have a few new parts for the car, some have been fitted, some haven't but they all come with the car.
New front grill and headlight lights.
New bonnet rubbers.
New gearstick bushing.
New brackets for the centre console.
New spring for the glovebox.
New intake manifold gasket.
New mechanical fuel pump.
This is a project car and it will need trailering away. Viewing highly advised.
Advertised elsewhere.
£4,500
I will entertain offers, cash and trades.
Parts that aren't included but can be negotiated for are:
River Side R101 13" wheels that come with new valves and new wheel nuts.
S13 D-MAX coilover for the front with spare springs. (would need S13 stubs welding onto the original suspension to make work, about £300)
2” Lowering blocks on the rear.
New FRP JDM bumpers.
Nardi steering wheel. (the one pictured isn't in the car but can be negotiated)
I need 10 minutes to go outside and take some photos but you get the idea, it's a Sunny Coupe and if you're serious you'll be viewing it anyway.
