If someone launched a smash the curse word out of W******** D*****'s face YouTube channel I'd never tire of watching that. I'd buy all the merchandise, too. LOL I don't know who you mean but I have a couple of contenders for that kind of content. Come the revolution...

Personally I used to be a real consumer of magazines, but reality is that was 25 years ago. Cars & Car Conversions being the prime interest, found it had a great balance of technical article and "show/project" cars.
Whenever I picked up anything more recently they often felt a bit "samey" if I'm honest, and as prices crept up(inevitable as production costs increase combined with dwindling circulation and fewer advertisers I felt) my appetite to by waned and thus my apathy will have contributed to the demise of printed media.
Likewise online content(paid member here - but admit to drifting in and out) is all too often mediocre(too reliant on clickbait headlines to underwrite poor articles) but there is some decent stuff out there with something for all tastes.

I gave up buying magazines when I came to terms with the fact I was spending £5 plus on something I could finish in half an hour or a few visits to the loo. There was definitely a law of diminishing returns, especially with mags based on older cars because there's only so much to say about yet another flathead powered '32 Roadster, a "bagged" and patina'd VW or an escort on minilites before it becomes repetitious. I was another person who bought 2 or 3 a month, most of which have gone in the recycle bin and I don't even want to think about how much I spent on them all. Since then the only car magazines I've bought have been a couple of old Rodders Journals which I consider to be more like books anyway.

i did used to buy a few magazines a month myself, I used to buy max power every month up until about 2006 when it changed, Then used to buy fast car until it stopped, I bought every issue of modern classic magazine, Then when that stopped used to buy pratical classics, But the prices just keep going up and up, I bought classic ford a few times, but now thats £7.00 and it just seems a lot to pay out when as you say its done in about half an hour
A lot of the time i used to buy the magazines, I would always read the project section 1st

Well, it’s all relative, isn’t it? Lots of people would happily spend six or seven quid on a coffee and a biscuit, but when it comes to a magazine they see it as a huge barrier. And as for ‘it’s done in half an hour’ - that’s a depressingly bleak dismissal of all the hard work and effort that goes into creating a magazine.

The second point is an interesting one. Who's fault is it that its not engaging the reader? And is that worse or better than potential reader picking it up on the shelf and putting it back thinking "theres nothing in there for me" I used to read Practical Classics, I read that every month for years. I bought back copies, the whole thing. Its still a going thing, I occasionally pick it up and look and think "this doesn't speak to me" and I put it back.

i would happly of kept buying modern classic, I thought it was a really good magazine, I can completely understand the work that goes into making the magazines but found with some of them they are just trying to make everyone happy and in the end just doesn't always Appel
