2 litre Ford Pinto engine, fibreglass body (except for the doors which are mk1/2 Fiesta), galvanised chassis. Rust wont be a concern with one of these.
Worried about parts? Don’t be, everything mechanical is a raid of the Ford parts bin. Tax and MOT exempt, these are really easy to work on and are really unique cars for not a lot of money.
This car was a genuine barn find, having spent nearly 20 years in a barn, I rescued it in 2016. Loads of work has been done, I can show pictures of what it looked like before.
The year is assigned based on the year of the donor car, in this case a Capri mk3, as it was registered in Scotland it didn’t end up with the normal Q plate.
Mileage says 17k but obviously that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as the engine and dash came from a donor car.
The dashboard, engine and gearbox are from
a MK3 Capri, the front seats (not original) are from a Civic Del Sol.
Now…the down side…..the paint needs flatting and topcoat. Not a huge job in the grand scheme of things.
