After a fairly lengthy recommissioning process and 12 months of being back on the road, I'm putting my cherished little 190 up for sale.
Spec as below:
1992 W201 190E Saloon
1.8 Petrol, 5-Speed manual
Genuine staggered 16" BBS Mahle wheels
Lowered
Full Stainless exhaust
Cream Leather
Car will come with brand new MoT
I purchased this car from the RR stables back in August '23. It had been stood for a while after it's previous owner fell out of love with it and moved on to something new.
You can read all about the recommissioning here.... forum.retro-rides.org/thread/225652/1992-mercedes-190e-fixed
But, to summarise - since I've owned her, she's had:
All strcuctural welding carried out - usual suspects of jacking points, rear floors, inner arches, boot corners, etc.
New discs, pads and flexis all round, plus partial hardlines.
Dampers front and rear.
Front arms, including hardware.
Full clutch kit.
Replacement lower-mileage gearbox, with refurbished shift linkages.
Replacement differential, again from a lower-mileage vehicle.
New drive shafts and centre prop bearing.
New heater matrix.
New radiator.
Full cream leather interior swap.
All of the fluids have been replaced and the engine has been fully serviced. Always run exclusively on E5 fuel.
She now really is a fully sorted and reliable classic. I genuinely will be sad to let her go, but I've bought another W124 Wagon and have some plans for that, so it's time to move on.
She sits pretty low on cut springs, but rides with impeccable manners. The BBS wheels are shod with mildly stretched tyres and do not rub at all. The full stainless sytem sounds great, without being intrusive and is fine at motorway speeds - it has a sports cat, so it's MoT friendly too. Keeps up with modern traffic no problem, although the small tyres mean she's happier on the motorway at 60 rather than 80....
Everything works, I've even replaced all the switch lighting! She's a keep-fit window model, but has electric roof, power steering and central locking. Theres no radio currently fitted, but I will throw in a period-correct Alpine headunit in the sale (there are Focal dash speakers installed).
Paintwork was going to be my next focus for her, as she has a couple of small marks, some little dings and a couple of tiny areas of lacquer peel, but still looks amazing after a wash and polish. The OSR door trim panel is a slight mismatch - this is what bothered me the most! Plan was to get all the trim panels and bumpers re-done, so I guess I'll do this if no-one buys her!
Puts me in a better mood everytime I take her out and always gets positive comments and waves from people!
Car is located in Colne, Lancashire.

Oh, the steering wheel is not included. Will come with standard item, sorry.
Thanks for looking,
