MODEL HISTORY
Two models launched to celebrate Jaguars ‘60 Years of Sporting Prowess’ and the end of XJS production prior to the launch of the XK8 model, the Jaguar XJS 4.0 2+2 Coupe and Convertible have always been highly collectable Final Edition examples. The final six-cylinder cars were designated the ‘Celebration’ model with the V12 believed to be on special order only, and there were only 5,490 Celebration cars produced according to the book, ‘You and Your Jaguar XJS’, by renowned Automotive Writer Nigel Thorley.

Factory Options: Full size spare wheel, heated front seats. Dealer Options: Body side mouldings, carpet mats, full car cover.
EXTERIOR
This exquisite example is the 2+2 Convertible finished in factory original Signal Red, (Code CFC), which compliments the elegant sporting lines of this classic drop-head. First paint credentials are rare and the Signal Red boasts an incredible deep glossy shine and uniform finish that will simply fascinate, even down to the original hand painted twin coachline. The beautiful quality chrome enhancements are mirror bright and the supplying dealer fitted number plates remain. The factory fitted hood with perfect tonneau cover presents as new, thanks to strict garage storage with an additional Jaguar soft cover to fully protect from sun fading. A final incarnation of the captivating XJS marque exceptionally represented in this pristine example.
INTERIOR
A sumptuously sporting and opulent interior is simply outstanding and certainly defies its near 30 years of age! Rare Coffee Leather with Cream piping electric heated seats, (Code SDC), are entirely commensurate with the low 12,218 miles covered. All luxurious soft furnishings are perfect including the inner hood lining. Hand-crafted Figured Sapwood Walnut veneers, (Code EK), are as new with none of the usual crazing or discolouration. The Celebration model specific wooden steering wheel and Jaguar Leaper embossed seats remain true to this special edition. All the controls, switches and gauges function perfectly including the cruise control system and air conditioning. True classic Jaguar indulgence.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The revised 4.0 litre AJ16 engine with twin overhead camshafts and a lightweight alloy cylinder head housing four valves per cylinder offers 238bhp and 382Nm of torque. Power and refinement is guaranteed with 0-60mph despatched in 8.0 seconds and a top speed of 145mph. An entire standard and original engine bay will delight the enthusiast keen to appreciate the mechanical craftsmanship and show circuit. The standard four-speed automatic transmission with switchable Normal and Sport modes operates flawlessly.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 7 x 16in Celebration Aerosport alloy wheels are in perfect order and instantly attract your gaze with their diamond turned finish. Premium Pirelli Cinturato 225/60 ZR16 tyres fitted all round have masses of tread remaining. The spotless luggage area holds the toolkit and factory optional full size Aerosport spare wheel and virgin tyre whereby even the original plastic wrap to the wheel face has never been removed! The electronically controlled anti-lock braking system with YAW control grips relentlessly to all four discs offering safe, consistent and predictable stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 15th May 1995 by Jaguar Main Dealers, H.A.Fox of Southampton, this unrepeatable example has covered a genuine 12,218 miles from new with just two owners, the second of whom since 1999. A new vehicle sales invoice for £41,591.41 is made out to first owner, Mr R Fraser, who owned the car until 1999 when the car was traded back into the supplying dealer. The second owner, Mr R Barber, purchased the car from H.A.Fox in November 1999 at which time the car had not even reached 8,000 miles. There are even photos kept of the car in the showroom taken as a memento! The history file is every bit as spectacular as the car with 16 Jaguar stamped entries in the service book from the supplying dealer, H.A.Fox. Two Jaguar document wallets hold the service book and all handbooks and point of sale literature. Mr Barber has owned the car for nearly 25 years and the condition and ongoing preservation is a credit to his ownership. A huge and beautifully presented leather-bound folder with pewter plaque bespoke to the car is simply amazing and holds a detailed maintenance log, all corresponding Jaguar main dealer service invoices and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 1998. In September 2024 the car was taken to a Jaguar Specialist for a major service including gearbox oil, fuel filter and brake fluid as well as a brake overhaul. One for the discerning enthusiast and collector, this stunning example is without question one of the finest examples in existence with a history file to match.
MOT September 2025, HPI Clear.
