	I have just taken delivery of a new compressor Unfortunately it did not come with and information guides , I was looking to run it from my 13hp Honda generator which i think is about 7.5kva. Any Advice on connecting it up to a power source would be appreciated as there is no plug fitted its just the 3 wires at 2.5mm. 	that's quite a beast, probably the biggest you'll find on single phase with one motor. your generator being 7.5kva, if at 240v that's over 30 amps, so should have the bigger of the blue plugs on it, probably a breaker switch built in also so you just need a plug to suit. www.screwfix.com/p/abb-32a-2p-e-connector-250v/6803x www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/kVA_to_Amp_Calculator.html

	I'd say that ideally that should be run from a 20amp breaker (not sure how gennys are done though). It'll probably draw the 18amps at start up and then around 16 when running. I had a campressor many years ago, 3hp, came with 3-pin 13amp plug on it. blew the breaker one day, found the PO had put a bolt in the plug in place of a fuse as it drew 16amp when cold on start up or when the tank needed a good drain and dropped to around 11/12 running. Ideally wants 4mm cable on 16 amp blue plug to a 20amp breaker. A lot of my 16amp stuff in my workshop is 20-amp breakered installed by a pro to a new consumer unit. Theres 16 and 32 amp blue plugs (smaller and larger) so make sure you use the right one as 32 amp stuff is really 6mm cable. This is just my persoanl view I'm just going off what I had to order when I had my install done on my new workshop!

	AC Motor start currents are normally 5 to 6 times the motors FLC for a very short period of time, but long enough to trip a standard breaker, it should be a breaker with a C curve and normally sized at 115% to 125% of the motor FLC if that size falls between standard breaker sizes you should go up a size. Motor should also be protected by an overcurrent device. I'd be looking for a 25A C curve breaker
