Selling my ACES DUCES throttle body efi, has been briefly fitted to a Rover V8 and run quite well for a hour or so. However I was unable to do any tuning runs and now must sell to raise funds for a non car related thing!
It's a twin barrel unit, which will support 350 hp and give good drivability and improve the MPG. 4 barrels look good, but are often overkill and you have problems with low speed drivability, this (I think) is ideal for a Rover V8 or any fairly standard small V8.
ACES DUCES
This is the kit that comes with a 340 LPH pump in tank conversion kit and PTFE hose. It will fit any manifold with the Holley 2300-flange and with the 4 BBL adaptor that's included, most 4150 style flanges, i.e. Holley, Edlebrock, etc. performance manifolds.
Pictures:
The linkage is the Holley type with different fittings to adjust speed of throttle opening, the 2 injectors it uses are standard Bosch/Chevy as is the TPS. One wiring connection on it's side makes for an easy install
The 4 to 2 adaptor, Summit brand from the USA. It also works as an insulator.
The ECU, small and neat. Can be mounted inside the car away from engine heat, I think this is an advantage over other systems.
This is the dedicated interface/display for the system, also can be used as normal dash display with Revs, GPS speedo and other user configurable gauges. Controls downloads & uploads, i.e. software up-dates, tunes etc. It also controls 2 different radiator fans, each can switch on or off at different temperatures.
The in-tank fuel system, this needs a little modification to your tank to fit, basically a largish hole for it to fit into. The pump can run with a return or returnless system. I used a return system and fitted a regulator to the air filter, which was brand new before I did that! Some of the PTFE pipe has been installed, but you may be able to re-use it. A good length remains unfitted, an assortment of Aeroquip type fitting also come with it and the HP ACES fuel filter is also included.
The supplied wiring loom, just 4 wires to connect (12V, 12V ignition switched, 12Vneg and the 12V to fuel pump) everything else is labelled and has a dedicated connector.
It uses a common Bosch O2 sensor to control fueling and to self tune. You'll need to fit a O2 sensor boss to an exhaust down pipe.
The system is self tuning, you just drive it and it learns, most people say it'll get to about 90% of a perfect tune. One advantage is that you don't need to put it on a rolling road to tune. All parameters of the fueling can be easily adjusted and on line remote tuning can be done by various tuners in the USA, no expensive time needed on a rolling road!
The system can also control a mappable ignition system. However, you do need a healthy engine, without induction or exhaust leaks for the system to work! The ease of tuning this system as opposed to changing jets, needles or metering rods is where these systems really score. And I was really looking forward to getting to grips with this, but unfortunately I need the funds. I've sold the car this was fitted to, after putting a carb back onto it, at the buyers request........!
It's £900 firm plus any shipping charges. I know it's not much less than the advertised new price, but once you pay shipping and the taxes and add the adaptor, new price is close to £1700!
PM me if have questions or you're interested.
