SOLD and collected
Rover 3.5 engine from an SD1 in my garage that is just gathering dust. It seemed a good idea a few years ago, intended for an engine swap but it never happenned, plans changed and now I'd rather have the space back.
The engine was removed from a running SD1, carefully dismantled by the previous owner and parts into crates and boxes. I am told everything is there which it certainly looks to be from my own checks. The crank is sitting in the block, everything else including sump, carbs, the heads
inlet and outlet manifolds, flywheel etc in boxes.
It's engine number starting 11A5 defines it as a standard Rover V8 as fitted to an SD1.
There is also an LT77 gearbox that was aquired to go with it and is part of the deal. This is a 'long stick' version as it was apparently from an ambulance but the stick can be changed. No idea about gear ratios other than its a 5 speed. The numbers are TRE100690 (which also cross references Landrover Defender 2.5TD) C220 TF 66 9 FTC 4047 SG3
£225 for the pair.

It's less about the price though, more about the lack of hassle. If someone is looking for it to be reassembled, gift wrapped and delivered on a pallet to their house by a bevy of Victoria's Secret models then sadly I must dispoint them there.
But if someone practical wants it and can pop round to Southend to collect it in an estate car or van and brings gloves ready to help carry it to their car then thats great and il throw in a cup of tea.
