	So I fully know the forum rules here about negativity….but what the hell is all this having to apply to a car show to see if your acceptable??? I’m very much old skool cars in a field etc, but some of these shows are so up there backside it’s ridiculous No RR events have ever been like this Is this just a new thing or is it here to stay?? For me the car scene should be accept whatever turns up at an event it’s a working man’s hobby that’s being turned into a rich boys sport now Mods delete if you think this subject is not debatable here It’s just really got me this week after people calling me for the show we’ve organised , one club has been told they couldn’t attend some shows because there cars were not classic or retro….ive booked them on I’ve noticed the forum has been quiet lately, perhaps a good debate will be good !

This is whinge binned so I'm cheating by replying, but I thought you may appreciate an answer from my point of view. I think for some certain events they want to control the cars and the nature of the cars at the event. For some they want to have the best of the best of the best, for others they want to have a certain mix so maybe they get like 30 MX5s or whatever apply but that is too many so they only want like ten at the most. Other times people are limited on space, so they want to cap the numbers, but also ensure people are getting a good show when they do arrive. Obviously others just want to have their type of cars there and want to control that. I mean RR kind of does do this loosely, we control by age, so if you're not right your not in. Anyway, thought you might appreciate my thoughts, it can be frustrating if you're not a selected car (which is why I hate doing the themed paddock selections some times, I really just want everyone that is on theme for the paddock in there and to keep everyone happy... problem is we are very limited on space at Goodwood so some have to miss out)
