I wonder what ownership gives you. Eg could you start manufacturing a car and call it an Austin or does BMW/SAIC own that right? Wasn't it VW who thought they bought Rolls Royce but didn't get the right to use the name, just the factory.

You'd probably just get inundated with previous debts/warranty claims from years ago racked up by the company and folk who bought their products and had issues!  |
