Now having a teenager in the family it was clear that if we want to keep on using the Westi for our Holiday trips we need some more space and seperate areas, selling the Westi was out of the question so I looked around and my bestfriend saved the day again by finding a 1954 Box trailer from the German Red cross, itv was built locally by a coachbuilder they know still build ambulances etc.
It was hand built with Ashframe covered in a steel body with a wooden floor and a seperate chassis. Luckily some one converted the chassis around 2001 to a modern car towing chassis instead of the Truck hitch and old 17 inch wheels etc. Well to be expected it needed a lot of TLC, body straightening, welding and wood repairs. So once it was welded, taken back to bare metal and painted in orange with a white roof to go with the Westi it then was transfered to our garage where we set out as a family to finish it and including insulating and paneling the inside in wood.
What it was once used for as it can load nearly 1 ton of goods
As purchased for 200 quid
