	I'm back, a few people will recognise me from 10+ years ago. I did have a MK1 fiesta amongst a few other vehicles. Life then got in the way but I've managed to win that battle, second wife incoming, new house with garage. Thought I'd treat myself to a stressful money pit 1 previous owner in the logbook, 57k miles in 33 years. Tatty bodywork, spots of rust, the most basic spec I think Peugeot did at that age and possibly the cheapest MOT'd 205 for sale recently. Collected it this morning and insured for the weekend then it'll be project time. Plan is ultimately to get it racing up a hillclimb course. This will likely involve overhauling pretty much everything but I'll start with the bodywork and getting it fully clean all over. Probably end up collecting bits and pieces in the meantime.

	As is usual for me, I've got lots of ideas of what to do, where to begin and how far to get into the project. From just making it hit the floor and take it to retro rides gathering, to doing the full lot. So I started having a prod around the other day, at long last, and saw some mayo in the filler cap. Could just be condensation, but this engine is 954cc, so I'm going to pretend it's the head gasket and whip the lot out. This will be followed by making it as clean as possible and then my intention is for 1.9 GTi engine bolted to a 1.6 gearbox and using the 1.9 suspension. Engine when I first went to look at it Engine bay as of removing a few bits. Bumper is giving me a bit of awkwardness, gonna have to chop the remains of these nuts off I reckon. Think this is a common thing for 205s. Generally looks pretty solid. Think I'll focus on making sure any rust is sorted first. Nice to back tinkering.

	Good start, looking forward to your build….. great starting point and looks pretty solid….
	205 GTi 1600 Standard. 205 GTi 1900 Cammed, head, 45's caged... etc..Mint 205 GTi Mi16 Stripped, modified modified modified..

	Inspired by a trip to harewood hill yesterday I've removed the front bumper this morning. I think it will be wise to get the shell spotless before I start collecting parts to build up. Front panel looks in relatively good condition. Should be able to avoid any welding here fortunately.

	Bitta work done recently. Removed seats, carpets and had a nosey in the rear 1/4s. Previous owner lived by the sea and mainly used this for taking his dog to the beach. As a result, it stinks and has a LOT of dog hair and sand, so working on cleaning it all up. Floor is absolutely solid everywhere. Passenger rear 1/4 has some rot though. Seats are going as is the carpet, not needed for the future of this car. Back seats are tatty but need to keep them. Ultimately I may end up getting proper seat mounts but for now I'm keeping the seat rails just in case. Also done a bit on the front panel, cleaned and primed. Only rattle can, as long as there's no rust it doesn't matter. Currently I'm contemplating putting a turbo on little 954 as an exercise in learning about turbo systems and also just because.
