So after finding the wheels I bought don't fit, I purchased some spacers and it looked hunky dorey until I tried to drive it. The wheels catch the arches Oh dear, I did use 32mm spacers each side, grayston universal ones. Anyway, the problem is the hubs have these silly centering lugs which means I either need wheels 4x101.6 and a centre bore of 65mm which I don't seem to be able to find with a reasonable (50ish Metro) offset. Any other ideas? Swap the hubs for Mini ones? These are the lugs in question

Can you not trim the bottom of the arch back to clear it?

Def do that. Just cut that bit off. It's rust shagged anyway.
Also 32mm spacers? How is that even legal? Could be wrong but I doubt you'd get away with it here in NZ.

what are those wheels? the look like mini 12" ones?
if you have spaced them out that much, have you done the rear also? If so itll catch like mad i think.
Your better getting the tyres off the wheels taking them to someone with a big lathe and getting the center bore opened up to suit the hub. I'm not sure id be happy running that much of a spacer that didnt locate properly.
i have a R100 with mgf 14" spare wheels on it, when i put the rear arches in i moved them to help the wheels fit.

Just cut the lugs off, and make sure you have the coorect wheelnuts for those wheels, normally have a flaoting conical washer. Run various Mini wheels on A-series Metro's and done this everytime with no issue. You'll then have adeqaute arch clearance without the spacers.

As above, or grind them off using a belt sander/finger file.

Just in case anyone was wondering what happened here, I simply bought new wheels with the correct size centre bore! JBW mini light 5x12 etc 31 jobbies, swapped the tyres over and voila! This is much better! Only I forgot to put on the centre caps😟
