  I owned this 20 years ago and just got the opportunity to buy it back as it has been sat in a garage in Suffolk for 15 years. So I have it back at mine and I've got it running and been working on the brakes, unblocking a carb jet, flushing the cooling system many many times and putting on new rad hoses. Car is still very solid and has 57,000 miles. I bought it back for a lot more than I sold it for, but it is in better condition than when I sold it. The car still has its original sales receipt from 1978 from Croxley Green Motors in Herts.  Only thing that was bothering me was the original metal rivet style number plates had been replaced by plastic ones at some point so I Bought a pair of plates from Tippers. So glad you can get them.   Cost was £69 delivered. They made the rear extra wide as per my request, this covers the bracket (originally designed for Japanese shape plate) |

Yep burnt orange 225 , but they also did a bright turquoise.

Odd isn’t it. Back in the 80s when these were commonplace, I wouldn’t have given one a second thought; but they’re a nice looking car and it certainly strikes a chord.
What are your plans for it?

my dad had the 4dr in that same shade of brown. but strangely decided to let the painter from his work paint it a shade of matt navy blue.  |

What are your plans for it? I'm probably going to work out all the wrinkles so that it is 100% reliable then probably think about selling it later in the year to concentrate on another much rustier 120Y that has been sat here for too long. |

This is fantastic, I used to walk past Croxley Green motors on my way home from school from '87 - 92  The building is still there as far as I know, did it live locally for a while ? |

It lived in South Oxhey (Watford) until 2004 but had been left in the garage since '86 so it was only out in traffic for 8 years. 50,000 miles.  |

Love that car. Exceptional condition too.
Years ago I had a Datsun 120AF-II on a T plate which looks very similar to one of these - Reg BKP88T, still about in wales somewhere doing hill climbs!
was mine the next generation of one of these or is it a different range?

No yours was the Cherry line (FWD) this was the next model up the range, (Sunny but not badged as such at the time) a little heavier, bigger brakes, RWD. It did use the same engine though.
