Have asked the question on a couple of Peugeot forums but nobody wants to talk, I think part of it is that any talk of getting rid of emissions stuff or such like, messages get deleted.
I have a Pug 207 1.6HDi, when I got the car it had EGR issues, and also blocked dpf.
I changed the cat/dpf pipe for a cat only pipe, blanked the EGR and then had the EGR/DPF and additive systems mapped out, at the time I just kept the power map stock, it runs like a dream, although its power was maybe slightly compromised by keeping the power map stock, it isnt as peppy as my other halfs Pug 308 with same engine running all of its emissions equipment as standard.
Am now thinking I would like a bit more go, the mapping person I used does a regular Stage 1 map, and also something called a 50/50 map, which is a combo of power and economy
Has anyone heard of that?, and perhaps had it done to any other modernish diesel car/van/vehicle?
car has a recent turbo, is regularly serviced, starts instantly and no smoke.
Would just like some opinions
Couple of questions:
Will it use more fuel? or will I just need less pedal to get it to respond, I am not particularly heavy right footed
Will it smoke? I don't want it to smoke
so, fire away anything I should know
many thanks
