I have had enough of my 50yr old fusebox - I have declared war on this often fooked with but never looked after nightmare. I get too many fluctuating voltages just by moving the damn spade terminals about - god I hate spade terminals! My hazards are perfect ignition off but don't get enough current when on so don't work and take the indicators down with it, along with a relay death scream just to rub my face in it ...
I despise the location of it, memories of getting my knees 4 inches in mud when my headlights failed and I needed to change the fuse - this created a revenge seed in my mind which is being satisfied right now ....
I keep pinging fuses everywhere, have to use a bloody torch during the day as there is absolutely no light with me in the frame, the copper contacts are losing their springyness, melted sections in the cover where the fuse isn't quite doing its job etc etc
I did a quick search for 12 port fusebox and got one of these along with the fuses and handy stickers for £9. It's really well made and could be the answer to all my problems until I realised something ....
it has a single negative and a single positive - how the hell do I add components that are ON when ignition switch is turned? If I wire this up surely everything will have current flowing to it, rendering it killing battery life within hours.
all the fuses are linked to the single + How the hell can this be an automotive fusebox (stickers say wipers, headlights, etc)? Is this for a car that has a system where the switching is done elsewhere?
do I need to buy 2x6 port fuseboxes? damn annoying if thats the only option!
