Has anyone got access to a lathe and able to make three dies to press in bearings for me? I’m not expecting it for free, but the engineering places near me aren’t interested or don’t have a lathe…
I’m rebuilding an engine and need to replace the intermediate shaft bearings. Essentially I need to do this:
and to do that I need a set of dies that fit my bearings. There are three of them and they are slightly different sizes. I have the new bearings, I could post them to you to make things easier. They’re not big things- about 35mm internal diameter.
I contacted the guy that made the tools in the photo I’ve attached, but he wasn’t keen on lending them out even with a deposit.
