Hi guys - fitted a new alternator to my ca18det (200s s13 engine) and it has been a bit ropey since I dd it about a year ago.
It works, but only after engine revs hit 4500rpm or so. After that it works all the time at any revs until it's switched off. It then won't work again until the revs hit around 4.5k
Anyone have any ideas? It's too late to send it back - I had to keep it at the time as it was a last minute fix to get to a show and it's ended up staying. Been using the car for a week or so and it's a real pain.
