Hoping someone can help me pin down a memory please. Back in the early 90's (I think) I read an article in Custom Car mag about a chap called, I believe, Steve D'souza, who built a RWD MK2 XR2 with a V6 engine. From memory it was very subtle and indistinguishable from a standard XR2, don't suppose anyone knows the issue or could do a quick scan, just for a trip down memory lane 🙂. Many thanks.

I remember a red MK3 fez with a V8 from a TVR Tuscan racer in CCC years ago..

I might have found it in the classifieds in a later Custom Car, V6 and RWD, interesting when you look up the MOT history it states 'This vehicle hasn't yet had it's first MOT'. Presumably it's still out there just not been on the road for ages?

I've seen that "this vehicle hasn't had its first MOT" on cars which defintiely have. I think it may be that the MOT was expired at the time the MOT went computerised and hasn't been tested since and isn't exempt. Or something.

I remember that car. IIRC it was only a small feature, but the car really looked like a stock Ford product. XR2.8i

Steve's sadly no longer with us. Not sure what happened to the car. It wasn't an XR2 but a base model, stock blue bodywork and had Unpopular Plus on the back. Well put together and one of the best sleepers ever.

Steve worked at Streatham Crash Repairs when that was built, with the likes of Steve Bradshaw, (Supercharged pro Street 4 door Mk1 cortina) Pete,Cant remember his second name who had a Mk2 pro st consul, Possibly Kev Elliot was working there too, and Ed Wimble was in the workshop opposite, Unfortunately Steve died a few yers ago in a roofing accident

Wow, I forgot all about Streatham Crash Repairs, they were kinda a "name" for a while back then, like you say, a lot of top guys in the same place.
