Hi guys does anyone have any experience of changing speedo faces from black to white i would like to change the heralds speedo i can buy a new one for £100 but there must be a cheaper way i can remember changing face colours was all the rage years back .   |

If you can get the faceplate out, scan it, reverse the colours with some basic image processing software, print a new one and trim it to fit?

Makes sense for older style face-lit gauges. I'm looking to do a newer cluster face but that's back-lit with clear/translucent numerals so they look dark until lit.
Original white numerals wouldn't work with white face & covering them would block light (though some still offered stickers anyway), so would need to start from scratch with clear plastic cut to shape & have face colour cut from vinyl with numerals cut out, requiring a bit more work than simple image print which has stalled me.

that what i had in my head printed onto sticky vinyl i take it ?? Anything suitable, really. I'd thought of doing it years ago for my car, in work I had a solid ink printer that I think would have done a decent job onto a decent paper stock which I could then just fix into place. It's important to get something that won't fade, so I'd expect that a lot of cheap inkjet printers wouldn't be up to it, though online printers could easily sort it onto whatever you want. |

just sourced another speedo on ebay to pull apart
hopefully have a mate that can scan and print a new white face
bight another dash to mod too

i bought another speedo to pull apart so that will never work again 🤣🤣 may go for something one off rather than a copy of the standard speedo.   |
