	I am just filling out the V55 form for my imported Ford Sierra. Has anyone got any tips on filling out he form? The car was imported pre NOVA and i have the Nova cert for this. So it just putting the required info in the V55. Is it just a case of copying across the info from the Spanish docs then sending the MOT,NOVA, V55, spanish docs and payment in?? Also do i need to insure the car before sending the application in, as its not easy finding insurance on the vin alone Thanks Rob

	Need to ring a semi-decent broker - I've never had any hassle finding insurance under VIN number, especially when explaining what for - SVA/IVA test or for taxing an imported car. All they ask is to be updated when you get a registration number for it. I found the booklet with the form and the on-line info on the DVLA site had all the answers when registering my import 5 yrs ago - afraid I can't remember any specific details though.

I got the booklet which is a littlest conflicting with some of the form. I have transferred as much information as I can from the original Spanish docs

	Insurance is not a requirement for registering. You may choose to insure it though if you are worried about the car being stolen etc. while you are waiting for documents to process. If the Spanish docs are not in English, you will need to get them translated by an official source who are willing to certify them. When I registered my Spanish moped, I used www.businesslanguageservices.co.uk/ to translate the dating letter I got from the manufacturer.
