1800-1935: Scrapheap MEGA (spooky-style reverb effect) Challenge:
In a very special episode of the show, Scrapheap Challenge celebrates the 200th anniversary of the invention of the steam locomotive by Richard Trevithick. Three teams, experts in the three different ages of the train, will go head-to-head, building steam, diesel and electric locomotives using only the materials they have scavenged from the piles of rusty old scrap on the heap.
They've got just 20 hours to create their locomotive leviathans, with enough pulling power to shift a 20-tonne passenger carriage! Will modern-day motive power win the day or will the golden age of steam take the honours?
2000-2100: Top Gear:
This week, who can get to the ski slopes first, Jeremy by road in a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti or James and Richard by air? A rally car goes head to head with a bobsleigh and this week's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' is Eddie Izzard.
Should be fun...unlike the complete balls-up of scheduling last week.
