My Granddad had this custom made for either his Mk1 Golf or his 412, I am not sure which, and he isnt around to tell me which any more unfortunately
Although it was custom made, I am pretty sure the guy just had various measurements from the top of the windscreen - i.e it doesnt exactly fit to a mk1 golf or 412, it has more been made the size to do so (if you see what I mean)
Its hard to provide measurements, because of the shape - some 'standards' I could work out are below, but let me know if you needed anything specific measuring
- 135cm at the very widest, and near as damnit the same at the first fixing hole
- 133cm at the second fixing hole
- 130cm where the curve starts to come in at the 'back' (ie the side that the roof of the car is)
- 120cm where the curve starts to come in at the front
- 100cm where the polished trim strips sit
- Roughly 26ish cm 'deep' in the main
Its a really beefy, decent bit of kit, made pretty nicely from decent gauge steel. I am fairly sure Granddad paid well over £200 each for them when he had this one done and one for his T25.
It has started to get a touch of surface rust in places, but nothing significant
Does £50 sound reasonable?
I would really prefer collection - minimises chances of damage, but also, given how difficult it is to measure accurately due to the curves, means you can be happy it will fit/can be made to fit whatever you want to put it on too!
Its in Walsall, West Mids for collection, but I go to Cardiff pretty much every week for work, so can take it there, or could meet somewhere along the journey too if we could sort.
Shout if any questions!
