Right then, hi all, newly signed up to this site after a Google thread led me here regarding a mk2 caddy build someone did circa 2013. I can't find it now I've signed up so just asking about for some info as the Internet is pretty sparse and the skaddy website is like a ghost town 👻. I've had this 1.9d mk2 vw variant of said vehicle in a lockup for 4/5years now and after eventually moving to a house with a garage I'm pretty close to clearing space to start this project. It's not in bad condition (usual rust patches On the arches.) But other than that, it's just looking tired.
My plan of action is to firstly get it on the road before i consider changing the engine and then completely go to town on It. ( Really toying with the idea of retro fitting a mk4 4motion setup if i can get past the hurdle of the transmission tunnel, if not a mk3/4 1.8T FWD will do) I've established that it's a 9U made by VW and SEAT made a similar variant the Inca van 9K. I need to know what parts are interchangeable and what can be used from other makes and models of cars as spares are becoming rare. I'm not going to type much more as I can go on forever but just need some pointers as to where to start, who's got info or done these in the past.
Cheers in advance....craig

They’re entirely Skoda Felicia, with design aspects carried over the the favorit. They were the last gasp of an original Skoda design before skoda just became rebadged vw models. Pretty much no VW in them at all apart from some engine variants, and a few brake bits here and there. In that respect it’s no easier to fit VW parts than any other marque, as they have nothing in common.
You can get absolutely everything for them very easily and cheaply from Czech Republic. Adapting and upgrading stuff is an uphill battle though, and probably not worth the effort tbh.

Depends if it's a Van or a Pickup, remember people seem to forget either the van or the pickup actually existed depending on who you talk to. Seeing as OP mentioned the Seat Inca and it's a '9U' I'm hedging bets on it being the tupperware-stuck-to-a-car van.

But we are working with the logic of VW owners here…

I've established that it's a 9U made by VW and SEAT made a similar variant the Inca van 9K. Then You might have established, too that the 9U was based on the Felicia with 1.6 petrol and 1,9 diesel engines as a max.
The 9KV was a rebadged Seat Inca, which was based on the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba, which was available with engines up to 2.0 150hp. So if You want a juicy pickup it would be easier to cut up a 9KV probably.

I should have read more of the Wiki article  The 9U is indeed the Favorit-mechanical-based Felicia truck which doesn't share very much with VW vehicles as Dez said.
