Hello, I have done a lot of Land Rovery stuff but have a head with some extra recesses machined around the valves. Does anyone have any ideas why and what from?
Would be great if I could upload a picture 🙄

Definitely not an early one and has come from a trusted source. I can't see what it would be done for except lowering compression I suppose. I've done a lot of LR head gaskets and never seen anything like it in my life, cor blimey guvnor
