A vacuum oil extractor is fine to draw brake fluid through provided the device is compatible with brake fluid. Those cheap vacuum guns are just that. Most of them don’t work properly out of the box and the minute they get brake fluid near the seals in the pump they fail.

Can't comment if applicable to your wheels but on many vehicles, once the m/c has had air in it, bench bleeding the m/c will is essential to getting a consistent "feel"

Umm, for the oil extractor it does say suitable for oils or similar NON-corrosive fluids, which I guess rules out brake fluid. Might have to get SWMBO involved again.

Its usually easier with two people, personally I use a Gunsons pressure bleeder, usually works fine on my own, cheaper ones are available but to be honest its worth the extra.
