As some of you may know, I decided to do something for The Gathering 2023 with no money, a small amount of time and some dormant scrap from round the yard. Ingredients: 1 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi 1 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 5 wide wheels 1 angle grinder One pinch of inspiration A dash of imagination Brucie, the Discovery, was donated by a good friend as it had been sat in his drive for a few years, partly stripped. I already had a broken TD5 (as most TD5 owners have) and last year or so I got some wheels from a customer that I have been trying to think of a use for. Another customer/mate put a set of inappropriate tyres on Marketplace so I got him to try them on my rims and then set to building something to put them on.

After an astoundingly short amount of time to get him MOT ready (about an hour for the body swap and I reckon 4 days to get to being running and driving, also doing real job work stuff at work too) and once the certificate was acquired some silliness commenced. 8x16 modulars with 245 45 16 Nankangs Momo steering wheel Lowered about 6 inches "Drift ring" lol GPS speedo The scrap shell has cleaned up quite well and just needed a wing straightening and a front bumper, it isnt great but it'll be rather different for Goodwood.... Chassis is amazing, handling is amazing, engine is 90% adequate and the straight cut gearbox is trouble free* Not so great with bumps, potholes, expansion joints, gravel, shadows....... but that's the price of looking cool. *it sounds like a straight cut box

How did you lower it? Chopped springs? I think it looks cool AF. Also, I might be interested in those Mondial wheels if you want to sell them.

Its amazing how much smaller it looks lowered that much. Perhaps channeling the body over the chassis next?

Brucie* is a bit lower than TheSportRangeRover too. *He was named by a previous owner about a million years ago while he was doing gardening and landscape work duties but it's not my place to rename him.

I've been wanting to do it for ages but 6 weeks before a car show seemed a good time to start.... The Mondials and tyres are available, ideally all in one go (it's a set of 5)
