I was literally putting the cutting disc on my grinder to cut this up and chuck it in the scrap, and when I tipped it over to start cutting, instead of crumbling to pieces like I thought it would, its surprisingly solid as a frame (albeit crusty and wants painting) so I thought I would give it a small chance at a second life.
Small (about 4 1/2 foot by 3 foot) was built by my Granddad probably in the 70s - Is now in the way of me trying to sort his 'estate' (mainly rusty old VWs) so I need it shifting
Clearly only a frame - hinges, lights, floor etc are all buggered. Frame is really heavy duty angle though, and as I say, while crusty and wants attacking with a wire brush and paint, is actually all solid.
Hubs spin freely - I am assuming that they are mini hubs. Leaf springs don't look horrendous.
Hitch looks OKish, but I am no Trailer expert
Clearly it cant be towed away 😂 Its going to need someone to collect in a van, or ironically on another trailer - I can provide muscle to help lifting on/into stuff
I am genuinely not bothered if it sells or if I cut it up for the metal pile - It has some value to us in scrap and my father inlaw wants the hitch if its getting fragged, but if someone can make use of it to make a decent little trailer for themselves for not much (bit of paint, set of wheels and some decent ply and it would be a goer I guess), I would rather that happened instead - Call it £20 to cover the scrap & hitch value and its yours (I do have a set of 2nd hand wheel arches for a single trailer you can have for a tenner extra too if wanted)
If no one wants it in the next couple of weeks I am cutting it up, so shout if you are interested - Its in the West Mids, just outside Cannock
Shout if any questions!
