I'm sure people have imported cars from Japan before but who did you use/trust to appraise the car and arrange shipping, taxes and registration?
Any recommendations greatly appreciated, I have contacted pacific coast autos, mainly because I've seen his yo utube channel over a number of years and so guessing he must be legit.
thanks

Firstly - be very cautious with what you're buying. Where are you looking at vehicles? There are plenty of disingenuous people selling cars in Japan, and cars are easily presented for sale with fake auction grading sheets, faked photos, rust cover-ups, it's become more and more prevalent since Covid with the increase in demand for cars. It's very common to find cars have been in significant crashes, straightened out and then presented for sale as pristine original examples. Secondly - Speak to someone who knows what they're doing, and has experience that goes deeper than just 'they're on Youtube'. Find someone with a proven track record like JM Imports, JDMGarage (Who I used, speak to Paul, v. helpful), Harlow J Autos, or similar. There are lots of blokes in their bedrooms in their mum's house pretending to be well-connected JDM brokers - I've been caught out before and luckily got away without getting burned too bad. Finally - Take your budget and add 20%. There WILL be unexpected things that the car needs straight away, unless the supplying importer takes care of them for you. Service items, repairs, suspension bushes etc, are pretty common. If you need help, I've had a few imports over the past few years now, drop me a line Good luck.

Thanks for the offer of help I really appreciate it, What you mentioned in your reply is kind of the point of my post I want to use a reputable company and preferably a company someone has used before. I don't want to be that guy who did no research, paid some random person they've never met before thousands of pounds for a car they've never seen before only for it to never turn up or if it does it's not as described. I really want a series 2 Toyota blade master g. Specifically in silver or white with a black or blue interior. As they are rare I'm prepared to wait for the right car. I'll try the guys you mentioned, hopefully they can help. Thanks again.
