Hi have long enjoyed a good driving simulator with my latest fun being Forza 4 and 5. My beautiful daughters bought me a thrust master steering wheel and pedals for fathers day. I want to make a race seat with correct positioning for the wheel and pedals.
Has anyone made one that can (ideally) collapse down when not in use?

Not really the thing you are looking for but I’ve got a rig setup for truck driving, it’s simple but effective and doesn’t take up too much space to store. Has to be a way you can make something that maybe folds over itself for storage with a cheapy car seat from Facebook marketplace or something?

My son got a Playseat Challenge that folds up and has a bucket seat feel to it.

My eldest assures me that it is theoretically possible to fly a 787 under Golden Gate bridge because he's done it in a simulator belonging to one of the major airlines. No idea how much the sim cost but you can bet it wasn't cheap.

I have, somewhere, a deck-chair style metal framed folding garden chair that I scrumped out of a skip about 10 years ago. The stains aren't even that questionable. That, plus a shonky table I made out of scraps of wood and a bit of kitchen top has done me pretty well as a sim rig. The table exists as an ugly but functional side table when not in use, and the chair folds flat and slides behind the normal living room chairs. A pair of the big yellow reusable cable ties connecting the table legs to the chair crossbar made it surprisingly solid, and a bit of string from the rear table legs around the pedal base stopped that making a bid for freedom when I were doing my best Ayrton Senna tap dancing impression.
The benefit of the deck chair style is that it was sort of adjustable for height and rake and folds completely flat.
Looks awful, cost about £4 in screws and brackets and works adequately.
